You could be eligible for funding for your emerging music business in Nova Scotia.

Small Business Grants

Small business grants are funds provided to start or expand a qualifying small-to-medium-enterprise (SME) that do not need to be paid back. This, of course, is their essential difference from small business loans, which do. But although small business grants don't need to be paid back, it would be wrong to think of them as free money.

PEI Product Development Fund 

As a PEI business owner, you may be eligible to get funding to cover 50% of eligible costs to a maximum of $50,000 for activities including, but not limited to:

New product, process and prototype development

Test market production

Assessment of food safety, processing and packaging equipment

Technical information

Assistance with implementing Government regulations

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT Vouchers 

Gain access to technical expertise and facilities required to support research and development activities of your Newfoundland and Labrador business.

Aboriginal Initiatives Fund II 

If your aboriginal organization carries out a project that supports economic, social or community development, you could receive financial assistance.

Advanced Manufacturing Fund 

If your manufacturing business is located in Ontario and incorporated in Canada, you could access repayable funding.

You could be eligible if you conduct:

Manufacturing and R&D activities in Ontario

Manufacturing activities in Ontario

R&D in Ontario, but not manufacturing

AgriInnovation Program

If you have an agri-business and are working on innovative projects, you can apply for assistance. Apply for:

A grant for pre-commercialization R&D and knowledge transfer

A loan to help get your agri-based products or services ready for the market

Alberta Innovates R&D Associates 

You could get financing that would allow your Alberta business to recruit Master's and PhD graduates for salaried positions. The graduates would conduct research that might help you accelerate business ideas.

Atlantic Innovation Fund 

Does your business develop new technologies in Atlantic Canada? You could get financing to cover up to 75% of eligible costs, if you are seeking more than $500,000 and up to $3 million.

Contributions are conditionally repayable based on the commercial success of your project.

Automotive Innovation Fund  

If you have an incorporated automotive business, you could get funding to build greener, more fuel-efficient vehicles through innovation and R&D.

Bonavista Institute for Cultural Tourism — Courses 

If you have a cultural tourism business in the Atlantic Provinces, you could get a subsidy to help pay for management training.

Broadband for E-business and Marketing (Timmins) 

You may be eligible for funding of up to 75% to a maximum of $5,000 for the approved costs of adopting, developing and implementing e-business strategies and applications, if you run a business in the Timmins region.

Business Investment Fund

If your business is part of the Province’s strategic sector, you could get funding to expand into external markets or to become more productive and competitive.

Cluster Development Program 

Is designed for working with other businesses to find different international markets. Your Prince Edward Island business could “cluster” with local businesses to improve your competiveness in foreign markets.

Craft Development Program 

You could receive financial support to expand or diversify the quality of crafts that your business manufactures.

Eastern Ontario Development Program 

If you are located in a rural area of Eastern Ontario, you could get financing to start or grow your business.

Economic Development Initiative (Southern Ontario)

Funding may be available for your business if you provide programs or services in French to a Francophone community in southern Ontario.

Enabling Accessibility Fund — Workplace Accessibility Stream 

Your small business may qualify for a grant to improve accessibility in your facility for people with disabilities.

Enterprise Trade Fund (Small Business) 

 Your export-related business could be eligible for funding to open, develop or expand markets or to stimulate Yukon business activities.

$10,000 or $50,000

 

Film Development Fund 

As a Saskatchewan farmer, you can apply for funding to access farm-related training or to help with the cost of hiring a consulting service.

Financial programs 

Are you looking to obtain financing for your business? This program offers term loans, equity, contributions and letters of credit.

$10,000 for level I communities and $20,000 for level II communities

 

Global Business Accelerator Program (GBAP)

Are you involved in international commercial activities? You could get funding to hire an international business expert.

You could get money to help your business improve processes, increase productivity, commercialization, advance technology, export or innovate.

Incoming Buyers Program 

If you are an active exporter or own an export-ready business on PEI, you could receive support to attract buyers and partners to your location. If eligible, you could bring people to your business to show the value of your goods and services.

Information Technology Implementation Program 

You may be eligible to receive financing to implement information technology solutions and strategies for your export-oriented business.

Information Technology Planning 

You could receive up to $5,000 to cover a maximum of 50% of the cost of acquiring technical support for your PEI business.

JEDI Aboriginal Development Fund

If you are Aboriginal and live in New Brunswick, you can apply for up to $2,500 to start or grow a business.

Market Readiness Subsidy Program

You could receive a subsidy to offset costs of training and professional development for your tourism business or non-profit organization.

Micro-Business Training Pilot Program

If you are over 19 years of age with no formal post-secondary education, you could receive up to $1500 of funding for business education courses.

Northern Business Opportunity Program (Northern Ontario) 

Your Northern Ontario business could be eligible for grants or loans ranging from $500,000 to $1 million.

You may be eligible to apply for a grant of up to a maximum of $150,000 to support certain types of business related activities in Northern Ontario.

Your Northern Ontario business may able eligible for funding from $15,000 up to $500,000 towards research and commercialization of new technologies.

Apply for funding to help you hire an export manager to develop an export plan for your existing business.

Self-employment support 

Do you want to start or buy a micro-business, or become self-employed? You could get financial support for up to 52 weeks and expert advice on how to develop a business plan, start a business or follow-up on self-employment activities.

 

 

Sivummut Grants to Small Business

 If you live in the Baffin (Qikiqtaaluk) region of Nunavut, you could get up to $25,000 to start or grow a business. You could use this grant to develop a business plan and to pay for licences, renovations, machinery, tools or office equipment.

You could get up to $95,000 in financial support to find ways to save energy, build a business case for an energy saving project, and implement it.
